We invite applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Computational Biology (DCB) at the School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh. We encourage applications from excellent candidates with expertise in computational biology in fields that include but are not limited to computational aspects of systems biology, genomics, molecular biology, proteomics, structural biology, and bio-molecular imaging.
DCB is located in Biomedical Science Tower 3, a newly built, 330,000 square foot advanced research facility that supports studies in drug discovery, neuroscience, stem cell biology, tissue engineering, nanotechnology, proteomics, and computational biology. DCB has an HHMI-funded PhD program in Computational Biology jointly offered with Carnegie Mellon University and an NIH-NSF-funded Bioengineering & Bioinformatics Summer Institute that attract outstanding students from a wide range of backgrounds. In accordance with the multidisciplinary research activities and integrative role of the department, the appointee will have substantial opportunities to collaborate with faculty from the School of Medicine and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in the University of Pittsburgh. The proximity of the Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center, the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, and Carnegie Mellon University provide additional avenues for research collaborations.
